The Night Shelter

The Julian Trust Night Shelter, also known as the Bristol Night Shelter, is located in premises in Little Bishop Street, on the edge of St Pauls in Bristol. Click here for map.

The premises were converted to fulfill the specific purpose of a Night Shelter; the money being raised by public donation. Click here for History.

In the Night Shelter the facilities for guests comprise a large dormitory with up to fifteen beds, a dining area, bathrooms with toilet and shower facilities. There is also a kitchen, stores, laundry and offices. There are separate facilities for volunteers that include a lounge, bedroom, toilet and shower facilities.

The Night Shelter is open five nights every week throughout the year. On most nights it is used by between 80 to 100 guests.

For guests, the doors open at 9:30 pm. Hot meals are served until 10:30 pm. Doors close at 11 pm with only those who are sleeping overnight remaining. Beds are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Breakfast is served from 6 am to 7 am. Guests must leave by 7:30 am, when the doors are locked.
